Olga Portnoy is a ceramic artist living and working in Israel. Born in Tajikistan and shaped by a life lived between cultures, landscapes, and memories, her work explores the relationship between the human experience and the natural world.

Working primarily through sculptural vessels, Portnoy creates forms that move between body and landscape, artifact and living organism. Her works often begin with sketches, observations, or conceptual ideas, yet evolve through an ongoing dialogue with clay, where intention and spontaneity shape the final form.

Inspired by mountains, botanical structures, erosion, clouds, and classical forms, her vessels carry traces of growth, transformation, and time. At the same time, they reflect emotional themes that recur throughout her practice — love, longing, hope, memory, and the search for balance.

Across different series, Portnoy explores both personal and collective structures. Some works draw from the quiet poetry of nature, while others offer subtle reflections on hierarchy, relationships, and the roles people inhabit within social systems.

Balancing sculpture and function, strength and fragility, order and freedom, her vessels exist somewhere between artifact, body, flower, and landscape — inviting viewers into a space where the ancient and the contemporary, the physical and the emotional, quietly meet.
